Allosaurus: Walking with Dinosaurs Fanart

Some fanart of the BBC's Walking with Dinosaurs' Allosaurus. Both of them.
I've been wanting to do this for some time now as I love the designs of the originals. Their colors, sounds, and personality are iconic and this series' depiction of Allosaurus is a favorite to most dinosaur enthusiasts.
So here, I wanted to see what they would look like with a more anatomically accurate update. The skulls of the original designs are quite shortened and stout, which is not characteristic of Allosaurus.

I wanted to make sure I represented both versions of these animals from the series as there are differences between the Allosaurs from the "Time of the Titans" episode as well as the Allosaurs from the "Ballad of Big Al" special. Since the "Big Al" design is based on the species "jimmadseni", I took the liberty to conclude the "Time of the Titans" version is "fragilis" and based it on that species.
Both have similar coloration and patterning, but upon closer inspection, you can see the larger fragilis has a warmer tone and a mostly full grey tail with constant, thin black and yellow stripes down the arms and fingers. The Big Al design is cooler by contrast, with splashes of stone blue instead of warm grey. Jade green blends from the hips, striping their way down the tail.

The creative choices made by the creature artists at Framestore did a phenomenal job and I make these illustrations out of the utmost love and respect. Theyre both such beautiful depictions and they hold a special place in my heart as a dinosaur enthusiast and paleoartist.
